How to play the imposter game
"The Impostor" is a free party game for one phone: every player gets a secret word drawn from a bank of over 5,000 words — except the impostors, who have to fake it without getting caught. Perfect for parties, game nights, road trips and team events — no downloads, no sign-up.

Add the players
Type in the names in seating order around the circle and choose how many impostors will hide in the group. You can play with 3 to 20 people.

Pass the phone in secret
Each player takes a turn holding the reveal button: most players see the secret word — and the impostors discover they have no idea what it is.

Ask indirect questions
Going around the circle, each player asks the person next to them a question about the word — like: "Would you take this to a desert island?". An answer too vague? Suspicious. Too detailed? You just handed the word to the impostor.

Vote and reveal
After the discussion, the group agrees on one suspect. Caught an impostor? The citizens win. Accused a citizen? The impostors celebrate — and rack up points.
